Bookmarks for December 16th through January 8th
These are my links for December 16th through January 8th:
- Doing It Wrong - Tim Bray talks about how enterprise development should take a leaf out of the web development community.
- UK snow map - tweet your pictures - Guardian.co.uk - 4 or 5 hours of frantic coding from idea to release to try to get it working before the snow came any further south. This is a tiny app I'm really proud of
- tweetstream - twitter realtime python client library - Want to use the twitter realtime api's? Want to do so in python in a nice easy way? The rather cool tweetstream library is definitely worth looking at.
- Nicholas Pi - Socket Benchmark of Asynchronous Servers in Python - Nicholas produces an excellent overview of the various python asynch server libraries available for massively scalable long poll servers.
- 50 Beautiful Free Icon Sets For Your Next Design - (via Smashing Magazine) - Some of these are simply beautiful. Not all of these icons are free for commercial use however, but they are all free for non-commercial use.
